The first “UltraSlide” board was built in the fall of 1992 in an off-campus apartment near Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, for use as a cross-trainer for cycling. About a year later, the men’s tennis coach at Northwestern contacted us asking if we could make a board for the team. A couple days later, we received another inquiry from someone associated with university. The business (originally called “Torch Enterprises,” later changed to “Varisport”) was incorporated in December of 1993 and we were off.
